frequently asked questions

On the product pages we try to provide as much information as possible regarding technical specifications, certification, origin and ecology. This list of frequently asked questions mainly covers issues such as shipping and services offered by Ecological Textiles. Of course, you may not find the answer to your specific question here. In that case, there is no need to fill in an online form, just give us a call (+31 475 334073) or send an email (info@ecologicaltextiles.com).

Why can't I see the prices?

Ecological Textiles is a wholesaler. As such, we ask custumers to create an account (be prepared to fill in your VAT-number). After creating an account you will be able to log in. Prices wil be visible immediately. We work with tiered prices. For fabrics, the price indicated is that of a hundred meters or more. It is possible to order smaller quantities with a minimum of 1 meter. A higher price will be charged for this. To do so, click on one of the indicated quantities (5-100 meter or less than five meter). The indicated price will be adjusted accordingly.

Why can't I add an article in the shopping basket?

This will be possible once you have made an account and have logged in.

Can I order if I don't have a VAT-number?

For customers living in the Netherlands or Belgium it is possible to order through our retail website www.ecotex.nl
A selection of the materials and fabrics that are available on our wholesale website is also available on that webshop. If you can not find what you are looking for, please send us an email.

Can I order a sample?

Yes, we offer sample sets of fabrics that are somehow related. Check our Sample Service.
Samples can also be ordered seperately.

What are the minimum quantities?

It's possible to order from one meter. Prices indicated on the site are based on quantities of 100-300 meter. For smaller orders (from 5 to 100 meters or less than 5 meters) there is a surcharge. The amount of this surcharge is indicated for every article.

How do you ship?

Quantities of several rolls or very thick and heavy rolls are mostly shipped on a pallet. Smaller quantities are either shipped as single rolls or in boxes. Experience has shown that it is safer and faster to send fabrics with a width of 1.60 meter or more in a box.

Do you ship to....?

Yes. We ship to all countries worldwide.

How do you determine the shipping costs?

In general the shipping rate for parcels within the Netherlands up to 23 kg. is a set price. This is also the case for small parcels up to 20 kg. for destinations throughout Europe. For larger orders and non-European destinations we will calculate the shipping costs and send you a quote.

How fast can you deliver?

We are shipping daily from our own warehouse, beneath our office in Roermond/The Netherlands. Boxes and single rolls are normally shipped with standard postal service, and our shipping costs are based on that. Shipments in the Netherlands usually arrive the next day, shipments to Belgium sometimes arrive the next day or a day later, sending to other European destinations takes 3-5 working days. Shipments to the US and Australia may take 8-10 days. Once the pallets, rolls or parcels are shipped, the adressing cannot be changed. Border controls, public holidays, customs workload etc. can cause delays beyond our control. We cannot take action on this either.

What can I do to get it faster?

In that case you will need a courier service. We prefer that you arrange this yourself.

Are all the articles always in stock?

We try to keep in stock as much as possible. However, sometimes a fabric can be sold out. In case an article is not available, this is indicated. In that case it may be that a new production run has to be organised, in other cases the weaving- or knitting mills have some stock themselves. Lead times vary between one week and 8 weeks or sometimes even longer. When stock is low, this is not indicated on the website.

Can I make a GOTS-certified collection with the fabrics of Ecological Textiles?

Yes! Ecological Textiles is a GOTS-certified company. It's possible to make a GOTS-certified collection with our fabrics that are GOTS-certified, provided of course that your own company is certified as well. More info about GOTS can be found here: GOTS INFO This is also where you can check our certification.

Can I order fabrics customised to my own specifications?

Yes, it is possible to produce fabrics according to your own specs. In general this means a larger Minimum Order Quantity is needed. Depending on the material and the request this can vary between 100-500 meters, per fabric and per colour. The leadtime can be between 6-12 weeks. Please send us an email with your needs and we will get back to you soonest.

Do you offer a digital printing service?

You can have your own custom design printed on a wide range of our organic cotton fabrics, with a MOQ of 1000 meters per colour, per design and a lead time of 6-12 weeks. For smaller accounts we can direct you to digital printing companies that work with a range of our fabrics.
