This natural dye is of animal origin as it comes from the cochineal, a scale insect from which carmine is extracted. This set can be used for dyeing cotton and linen in the washing machine or in a pan.
The standard 250 gram bag is normally on stock and is suitable for 500 to 1,500 grams of material, depending on the intensity of the colour you want to obtain. The dyes are packed in handy bags. The fixative salts are mixed with the dye.
